Project begins

Following a grant award from Heritage Lottery Fund on the 13th February 2018, the project run by young people from Slough Wrestling Club, will begin next month to look at the history of Panjabi Wrestling.

The young people will undertake workshops on the history of Panjabi Wrestling; learn camera, sound and lighting techniques for filming; learn interview skills; develop questions for oral history interviews and undertake filmed interviews of people involved in Panjabi Wrestling.

They will also learn some of the important holds, moves and techniques particular to Panjabi Wrestling and put them to the test.

Ultimately they will create an oral history documentary to make their research more widely available and accessible.
